STORIS proudly celebrates Bill Hinks, Founder and Chairman of Furniture Mart USA, on his induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Class of 2025, and congratulates the Furniture Mart USA team on being named Furniture Retailer of the Year. Bill’s story is one of humble beginnings and extraordinary perseverance. What started in the 1970s as a small second-hand furniture store in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, grew through hard work and a belief in serving people where they live. Under his guidance, Furniture Mart USA expanded to more than 50 retail locations across six Midwestern states—bringing premium brands and rapid delivery to communities often overlooked by large metropolitan retailers. His Hall of Fame recognition, celebrated during the High Point Market in October 2025, honors not only his entrepreneurial accomplishments but also his deep commitment to integrity, philanthropy, and family values that continue to define the company today.

That same spirit earned Furniture Mart USA the Furniture Retailer of the Year award, recognizing their sustained operational excellence, customer-first innovation, and multigenerational leadership. With the Hinks family—Bill, Carolyn, and their children—continuing to guide the company, Furniture Mart USA remains a shining example of how purpose, people, and persistence can shape an enduring brand.
