Mt. Arlington, NJ— STORIS Leading Retail Software Solutions has released the latest version of their software with features that enable their retailers to enhance both their customers’ in-store and online experiences. Revision 9.8. comes just 6 month after STORIS’ last release and is the first release to follow their agile development model.
9.8 focuses on the continued mobility of the platform. Over fifty of STORIS’ Point of Sale secondary process screens have been redesigned to reflect STORIS’ mobile-optimized screen configuration, which was first seen in 9.7. The mobile design is accompanied by a series of new icons enhancing the interface’s design aesthetic. Product Manager, Donnie Surdoval, stated that “Both of these elements combine to deliver a modern and fresh look to the software package that complements the showroom experience our retailers offer.”
Broad River Furniture, headquartered in South Carolina, was one of the Beta testers for STORIS’ latest release. Harold Hampton, Vice President, IT and Business Intelligence for Broad River, stated that,
“Being a STORIS Beta tester puts our brand on the fast track of retail innovation. Testing the new release helped us fine tune the technology processes, specifically related to mobile and in-store, that enhance Broad River’s customer experience offered through STORIS’ software solution.”
STORIS utilized an agile software development process, which contributes to the expedited release schedule STORIS is able to achieve. Large development projects are broken down into smaller deliverables. There is a dedicated project team consisting of programmers, QA technicians, and documentation specialists throughout the duration of the agile effort. Sr. Manager of Quality Assurance, Melissa Ocampo, describes this method as
“a collaborative effort amongst the production team, which fosters a more creative and cooperative environment. “Using this method has accelerated our enhancement turn-around, which is a huge win for STORIS retailers.”
The release of 9.8 also brings about new functionality to STORIS’ recently launched eSTORIS Integrated eCommerce platform. Delivery logistics now showcase when each product on the retailer’s website is available for delivery to the customer with adjustments based on their zip code location. In addition, a customer can adjust their delivery date from a retailer’s website to meet their needs, but also comply with the retailer’s logistics. Both enhancements represent important competitive features for a successful eCommerce site.
Other features that retailers can take advantage of in 9.8 include updates to report scheduling, conversion of quotes to layaways, enhanced finance application processing, finance application management, and more.
9.8 is now available to all STORIS clients. Learn more about STORIS 9.8 today by contacting STORIS at 1.888.4.STORIS.
