Release of STORIS Vision 9.5 Marks Over 10 Releases in 10 Years
STORIS is excited to announce the release of its latest software revision, 9.5. This marks 10 years of STORIS releasing at least one major revision annually to their clients. STORIS Vision 9.5 is available for upgrade to STORIS clients starting April 1st, 2015. This release has been PA-DSS certified making STORIS Vision 9.5 PCI Compliant.
The Dufresne Group paired with STORIS’ internal Quality Assurance team were beta testers for this release to ensure delivery of an exceptional new product to STORIS’ 350+ retailers. James Jensen of TDG said, “Our team was excited for the enhancements seen in 9.5 and the transition was seamless. TDG saw new processes that will save us time handling daily activities, and our sales team took to the new mobile functionality quickly and enthusiastically.”
“A goal of any STORIS release, but particularly 9.5, is continuously designing an intuitive user experience,” said 9.5’s Senior Technical Project Manager, Ken Marrese. “That means accommodating the use of STORIS on increasingly important mobile technology platforms, including Windows 8 Surface Pros & touch-capable monitors. This advancement is an exciting addition to STORIS’ mobile solution, which already includes the popular iPad application.
“9.5 expands STORIS’ mobile offering to give sales representatives the ability to now use Surface Pros and other windows based devices on the sales floor to better serve customers without being anchored to a stationary Point of Sale counter,” said STORIS’ COO Doug Culmone. “Our clients were very excited about this upcoming functionality when we first unveiled it during our User Conference, and we are proud to be delivering this to them on time.”
For optimized use of touch functionality, 9.5 screen design has been enhanced for end-user experience including intuitive command bar placement, scaling options, and a pop-up digital keyboard. “We think about the details from the terminology we use to where action buttons are placed; anyway that we can make our Client’s jobs more seamless,” said Ken Marrese.
In addition to mobile features, STORIS’ core software solution received a variety of new enhancements designed to increase productivity. STORIS’ approach for increasing efficiency includes quicker process completion & improved information accessibility.
Many of 9.5 enhancements increase the flexibility of processes to match the everyday realities of a retail environment. Some key processes that are new and improved in 9.5 include Delivery Manifesting, Logistical Scheduling, Just-in-Time Inventory Management, Batch Barcode Processing, Tax Regulation Calculating, Price Adjustment Auditing, Streamlined Special Order Returns, and many more.
“We listen to our clients feedback carefully,” says VP of Client Services Marilyn Durning. “As with any STORIS release, we have taken a look at some of our most utilized programs and found ways to make them more intuitive.”
One of STORIS’ most valued features is their Point of Sale upselling prompts also seen in past STORIS releases. Listening to end-user suggestion, this concept was rolled out to Customer Service Management in 9.5 to help better meet the needs of customers during service requests.
In addition, STORIS rolled out a new program in 2014 to improve user experience with processes that are more efficient. Members of their Implementations, Q&A, Support and Business Development teams joined together to generate ideas for making processes have fewer clicks to completion. The program was a huge success and saw many enhancements go live in 9.5.
