MEGA Convention Recap
STORIS made a trip down to Louisville, KY for the MEGA Group USA Fall Convention. The event took place at the Louisville Downtown Marriott and had a theme of “Cover All Your Bases.” While there, two of our STORIS employees, Brian Robinson and Gloria Walsh, were able to meet with new people, speak with some clients and enjoy the time at the conference.
Business Development Manager Brian Robinson said, “This was my first time in Louisville and it was definitely a unique experience. Everyone there has pride for their city, which was great to see.”
“Cover All Your Bases” was MEGA’s way of paying homage to the famous Louisville Slugger. The city has been a hub of America’s favorite pastime since the late 1800s.
MEGA’s Marketing Manager, Brooke Feldman, said,
We wanted to really play with the location, especially since Louisville is famous for the Louisville Slugger. Baseball was practically born there, so I wanted to make sure we made an educational experience fun. We tried incorporate a lot of our materials with a baseball theme.”
On the title of the convention, Feldman said, “The “Cover All Your Bases” title is a play on words. Our conventions are filled with information, training and buying specials so, we encourage members to take advantage of every aspect.”
The conference offered a lot of opportunity for learning and growth. The MEGA Tech Group, a new division of MEGA, hosted workshops. MEGA’s own employees also ran their own seminars, while President of Serta Simmons Bedding delivered a keynote speech. The entire convention ended on a high note in true Louisville style, with batting cages, bourbon and a band.
One STORIS Client who recently converted, Ray Brown from Mt. Vernon Sleep Galleries, was an attendee at the show. We met Ray through MEGA Group USA and asked him about our partnership with the group. He said,
I have to say that as thrilled as we are about the quality and features of your software, the quality of your people and service far exceeds even that. We were concerned about making the transition since we had been using our previous software since Y2K, but your staff went further than I would have imagined to ease the burden of the transition process.”
