STORIS client HW Home, a small specialty home furnishings retail operations company, is reaping the rewards of the powerful Vision R8 Server Business solution.

Prior to implementing STORIS, HW (a Colorado retail store since 1999) operated with general business software. As their businesses grew, so did their need for a more comprehensive, industry-specific software system. Prior to implementing STORIS, HW operated with general business software. As their business grew, so did their need for a more comprehensive, industry-specific software system.

Ron Werner, an Owner at HW, said he spent several years evaluating both non-industry specific and industry-focused software, and he realized that a general software program would never meet their growing needs. He researched STORIS, but thought the company only focused on high-volume retailers. At a furniture market, he learned differently.

A representative of STORIS explained to Werner that they now offer a technology option for smaller operations, but with the capabilities to grow as their business grows.

"I wanted a package that would provide us information in real-time, 24/7, in all locations," says Werner. "I wanted something that would easily allow us to create special order sales. It also needed to have financial integration and be able do all the right things with the sales data. And it needed to be easy to use! I was happy to learn STORIS offered it all."

"The new release has several nice enhancements to it," says Werner. Various customer order entry screens such as the customer and system control settings, sales order, customer returns, and exchange order entry have been redesigned to be more intuitive for the user to navigate through. A shopping cart feature has been added to the sales order application. And a hand-held barcode accommodates the new generation of WiFi scanners as well.

"Mostly, with STORIS, I love that I can quickly train a new employee to write up a sale, and with just a little more time, I can teach them more aspects of the system," adds Werner. "Plus, I could be in Europe and I can still access the information remotely from my laptop. That, to me, is phenomenally powerful."
