Donald J. Surdoval
President & Chief Executive Officer
In conjunction with STORIS' Co-founder Ira Bakst, Don founded STORIS in 1989 upon purchasing the technical rights of the software from The Ultimate Corporation, a NYSE listed systems integrator. Don recognized the necessity to provide robust software applications that optimize operations for big ticket retailers. Since inception, STORIS has been the technology business partner that delivers innovation and operational excellence to retailers that demand success. As CEO of STORIS, Don continues to oversee the growth and direction of how STORIS can best service the big ticket retail marketplace. Throughout his career, Don has consistently and successfully focused on the creation of a work environment that is both customer and results driven. Don and his wife Denise have three children and reside in New Jersey.
Doug Culmone
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Culmone has held various top executive roles within the company before assuming his current position as Chief Operating Officer for STORIS. Culmone served as STORIS’ Director of Client Services in 1999 before taking on the role of V.P. of Operations from 2001 – 2003 and becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2004. Culmone also carries a tremendous amount of retail experience holding a Regional Manager position for Putnam Furniture from 1985 – 1993, as well as Customer Service Management, Director of Operations, and V.P. Sales and Marketing positions for Hitchcock Chair Co. from 1995 – 1999. Mr. Culmone graduated from Fairfield University in 1985 with a degree in Marketing. He resides in New Jersey with his wife and two daughters.
Al Chambers
Sr. Vice President, Finance & Administration
Mr. Chambers is responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance as well as all legal, insurance, risk management and human resource matters for STORIS. Mr. Chambers joined STORIS in 1998 as Director of Finance and Controller. In 2003 he was promoted to Senior Vice President. Prior to his affiliation with the STORIS, Mr. Chambers served as Controller of Emerson Radio Corp, responsible for all aspects of US and International accounting and SEC reporting. He has also served in various financial positions, including Director of Finance and Controller, for AmeriFoods, Inc. and subsidiaries. Mr. Chambers began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he served numerous banking and manufacturing clients. Mr. Chambers received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Peter’s College. He received his CPA from the state of New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA).
John Stauffer
Vice President, Product Design
Since Mr. Stauffer’s graduation from Pennsylvania State University, he has been involved in all aspects of the retail industry. Prior to joining STORIS in 1994, Mr. Stauffer held the position of Operations Director at Unclaimed Freight where he was directly responsible for the operation of both their stores and distribution centers. Previous to Unclaimed Freight, Mr. Stauffer was the Manager of Inventory Control and Loss Prevention for Edison Brothers Stores Inc. During his 13 years with Edison Brothers, he also held positions in sales, store management, and internal auditing. Mr. Stauffer was instrumental in the development of the STORIS Radio Frequency Barcode application. His knowledge of Distribution and Inventory Control requirements has positioned STORIS as the leader in RF Barcode functionality in the furniture industry. Mr. Stauffer is married with 3 daughters. He and his wife reside in Pennsylvania.
Dom Costantino
Vice President, Application Development
Mr. Costantino has been with STORIS for over 15 years. He began his career with STORIS as a Senior Programmer working in the area of custom development. Five years later he was promoted to Programming Manager of the Custom Programming Department which he held for over ten years. Today he oversees the Application Development department which is responsible for all enhancements performed in the area of the core STORIS application. Prior to STORIS, he worked for five years at ADP as a Programming Manager. Mr. Costantino holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Montclair State. He and his wife have 2 children and reside in New Jersey.
